Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK)

This video demonstrates a Descemet's stripping endothelial keratoplasty (DSEK). The first part of thus unnarrated video illustrates how to score the Descemet's membrane with a Sinskey hook. Then the Descemet's is detached or "stripped off" with a hook, strippers or an irrigation/aspiration handpiece and the diseased endothelium is removed. The edges around the dissection is roughened for optimal attachment. Then the donor lenticule is prepared using the Moria ALTK to cut the donor using a 350 micron head. After the disc is placed in the anterior chamber, air bubble is placed to secure the disc. The first photos is the patient's immediate post operative appearance, followed by post operative day 1 images.
