Malpositioned IOL & Iris Trauma. Removal of De-centered IOL

Thomas A. Oetting, MS, MD

A patient who was previously treated for a traumatic cataract developed a de-centered IOL. In this video, the de-centered IOL is replaced it with an iris reconstruction IOL (Ophtec model 311-- not approved by the FDA) to help with the traumatic mydriasis. The de-centered IOL had one haptic in the bag and one in the sulcus as is usually the case with a subluxed IOL.
