Iridocyclectomy
W.L.M. Alward, MD
In this surgical video, a mass suspected of being malignant melanoma on the iris and ciliary body is removed. The scleral fixationg ring is already in place. A scleral flap is made and then a tunnel to reach the area of interest. An ophthalmic viscoelastic device (OVD) is injected in the area and the mass is then resected. The sceral flap is then sutured closed and antibiotics are placed subconjunctivally and over the ocular surface at the end of the case.
