Bilateral mature senile cataract - typical patient at an Eye Clinic in rural India

Many patients refused to admit to light perception and light projection. They felt that no surgery would be offered them if they could see at all. In such patients, the reaction of the pupil to light suggested that there was at least a functioning optic nerve that justified cataract surgery.
