A 74-year-old man presented for evaluation of corneal transplant in the right eye. His ocular history was significant for a prior intraocular lens exchange after an open globe injury to the right eye. His surgical course was complicated by choroidal hemorrhages and total hyphema. Despite surgical intervention with drainage and anterior chamber washout, he had persistent, severe corneal blood staining. Corneal blood staining typically occurs in the presence of hyphema and increased intraocular pressure. "
