A 20-year-old man presented for routine follow up of congenital nystagmus. Anterior segment examination revealed an iris coloboma in both eyes. In the right eye, there was concomitant congenital cataract. Colobomas are developmental defects that result from incomplete closure of the embryonic fissure. Colobomas can involve the iris, ciliary body, choroid, retina, and optic nerve. Colobomas are located in the inferonasal quadrant.
