Endogenous suppurative iritis

Hypopyon is the accumulation of pus in the anterior chamber. Its appearance is influenced by gravity and the position of the patient and his eye. No external entrance point, e.g. surgical incisions or penetrations due to injury, were evident. This ruled out an exogenous iritis as a cause of the hypopyon. In this case, the diagnosis would seem to be " endogenous suppurative iritis " with its several etiological possibilities.
