Vitamin A deficiency: temporal Bitot's spot

During the Eye Clinic conducted periodically from 1951 through 1968, Dr. Caccamise examined hundreds of patients with Bitot's spots. These spots can develop temporally alone or temporally and nasally simultaneously but with the temporal spot always dominant. However, Dr. Caccamise has never seen a Bitot's spot develop nasally alone.
