This is classic florid follicular conjunctivitis in acute trachoma. Giemsa staining of conjunctival scrapings were positive for Halberstaedter-Prowazek intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies. In non-endemic areas for trachoma, the more likely diagnosis would be acute allergic follicular conjunctivitis.
