Matthew C. Weed, MD

Dr. Matthew Weed completed his ophthalmology residency and two fellowships at the University of Iowa—one in ophthalmic genetics and one in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. Dr. Weed joined the EyeRounds Editorial Board in July of 2012 and continued through his graduation from Pediatric Ophthalmology Fellowship in June of 2016. He began serving as an alumni editor on the EyeRounds Editorial Board in July 2017.

Dr. Weed continued on to private practice at the Spokane Eye Clinic in Washington until joining the Moran Eye Center at the University of Utah in July 2025.

We are deeply saddeded to share Dr. Weed passed away on December 25, 2025.
